Cookie Policy

1. Introduction

This cookie policy refers exclusively to the website www.solomeo.it ("Website") and must be understood as an integral part of its Privacy Policy.

2. Definitions, characteristics and application of regulations

Cookies are small text files that the websites visited by the user send and store on their computer or mobile device, which are then transmitted back to the same websites at the next visit. Thanks to cookies, a website remembers the user's actions and preferences (such as login info, the chosen language, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be specified again when the user goes back to that website or browses from one of its pages to another. Cookies are therefore used for authentication, session monitoring and storing information regarding the activities of users accessing a website, and may also contain a unique identification code that tracks the user's browsing on the website for statistical or advertising purposes. While browsing a website, the user may also receive cookies on their computer or mobile device from websites or web servers other than the one being visited (so-called "third-party" cookies). Some operations could not be carried out without the use of cookies, which in certain cases are therefore technically necessary for the website to function.

There are various types of cookies depending on their characteristics and functions, and they may remain on the user's computer or mobile device for different periods of time: these include session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed, and persistent cookies, which remain on the user's device until a pre-determined expiry date.

Under current Italian law, the use of cookies does not always require the user’s express consent. Specifically, "technical cookies", i.e. those used for the sole purpose of allowing communications over an electronic network, or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user, do not require such consent. In other words, these are cookies that are indispensable for the operation of the website or necessary to perform activities requested by the user.

Technical cookies, which do not require express consent for their use (see the Italian Data Protection Authority’s Provision on Identification of simplified methods for the notice and acquisition of consent for the use of cookies dated 8 May 2014, hereinafter "Provision"), include the following types:

Analytics cookies, when used directly by the website operator to collect information in aggregate form on the number of users and how they use the website itself.

Browsing or session cookies, which guarantee normal browsing and use of the website (for example, allowing purchases or authenticating access to restricted areas).

Function cookies, which allow the user to browse based on an array of selected criteria (e.g. the language, the products selected for purchase) to improve the service rendered.

Conversely, for "profiling cookies", those aimed at creating user profiles and used to send advertising messages that reflect their preferences as manifested while browsing the Internet, prior consent is required.

3. Types of cookies used by the Website

The Website uses the following types of cookies and offers the possibility to de-select them, except for third-party cookies for which the user must refer directly to the relevant selection and de-selection procedures for their respective cookies, indicated by means of links:

Technical cookies - browsing or session cookies, strictly necessary for the operation of the Website or to enable the user to make use of the content and services requested.

Analytics cookies, which allow the operator of the Website to understand how the Website is used by users. These cookies do not collect information about the user's identity or any personal data. The information is processed in aggregate and anonymous form.

WARNING: If you disable technical and/or function cookies the Website may not be accessible or certain services or features of the Website may not be available or may not function properly, and you may be required to change or manually enter certain information or preferences each time you visit the Website.

The Website uses third-party cookies, i.e. cookies from websites or web servers other than that of the Data Controller, used for purposes specific to those third parties, including analytical cookies. Note that these third parties, listed below with the relevant links to their privacy policies, act as independent data controllers of the data collected through the cookies sent by them, therefore the user must refer to their policies on the processing of personal data, information and any consent collection forms (selection and de-selection of the respective cookies).

Below are links to the respective policies on the use of cookies and consent forms (as required by the Provision):

4. How to view and modify cookies through your browser

You can select which cookies to allow using the procedure provided in the Cookie settings section, as well as authorize, block or delete (all or part of) the cookies using the specific functions of your browser. However, if all or some of the cookies are disabled, the Website may not be accessible or some of the services or functions of the Website may not be available or may not function properly and/or you may have to change or manually enter certain information or preferences each time you visit the Website.

5. Cookie settings

Below, the user can make a choice and indicate specifically which cookies to allow. Note that blocking technical cookies may make it impossible to use the Website, view its content and use the related services. Inhibiting function cookies may result in certain services or features of the Website not being available or not working properly, and you may be required to change or manually enter certain information or preferences each time you visit the Website.

The lack of authorization with respect to the other cookies of third parties will not affect the Website’s operation. However, since these types of cookies are sent exclusively by third parties, and since the operator of the Website cannot exercise control over the sending of these cookies to the user's terminal, any objection can only be exercised by accessing the consent forms prepared by the aforementioned third parties, if present, or through the settings of your browser. Links to the privacy policies and any cookie consent forms provided by third parties sending cookies via the Website are provided in the section Types of cookies used by the Website.

As regards the cookies directly sent by the Website manager, in addition to the procedure made available on this page, the user may also fully or partially block or delete the cookies through the specific functions of their browser (see above).

The choices made by the user with respect to the Website's cookies will in turn be recorded in a designated technical cookie with the characteristics set out in the cookie table. However, this cookie may in some circumstances not work properly. In such cases, we recommend that you delete unwanted cookies and inhibit their use through your browser.

Your cookie preferences will need to be set again if you use different devices or browsers to access the Website.
