The tale of Aladdin is the most famous and debated story of the entire collection of One Thousand and One Nights, but it is also the most perfect and complete for the meanings and symbols it contains. Together with the tale of Ali Baba, it is the only text in which the leading character finds the realisation of himself and of his destiny as a man in the dark bowels of the earth — precisely where the scientific and literary imagination generated the various formulas and cabals of alchemy linked to the search for the philosopher's stone. It is the story of a journey, from carefree youth to adulthood, of an initiatory path towards life that the soul undertakes to achieve completeness. Between song and acting, mime and dance, accompanied by music composed especially by Maestro Danilo Lorenzini, the Compagnia Carlo Colla & Figli brings to life a show in which the ancient art of marionettes is realised in all its complexity and seduction.
