Gabriele Catalucci

Gabriele Catalucci was born in Amelia, Italy, where he studied piano under Pina Ardizzone. He graduated in Organ and Organ Composition from the Morlacchi Conservatoire in Perugia, studying under Wijnand van de Pol. He also completed his harpsichord studies with Annaberta Conti and Maria Teresa Garatti. He also studied orchestra conducting and attended masterclasses for organ and harpsichord, led respectively by Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini at the Academy in Pistoia and Kenneth Gilbert at the Cini Foundation in Venice. He attended courses at the School of Palaeography and Musical Philology at the University of Pavia, passing the exams with flying colours. After completing his studies, Catalucci began his concert career as a soloist on the organ, harpsichord, and fortepiano, as well as an orchestra conductor in Italy and abroad. He has made numerous recordings as a conductor, organist, harpsichordist and fortepiano player. Moreover, he has been Chair Professor of Harmony Theories and Techniques and has taught Historical Keyboards at the G. Briccialdi Conservatoire in Terni, where he also served two terms as the director. Catalucci also conducts the Corale Amerina and is the Titular Organist and Director of Music at the All Saints Anglican Church in Rome. He performs in a duo with Andrea Di Mario (baroque trumpet), with whom he founded the Ensemble Girolamo Fantini, comprising 3 baroque trumpets, timpani, and organ-harpsichord. He is a certified AIS sommelier.
