On one side is Cape Verdean choreographer, Marlene Monteiro Freitas, whose dance combines extreme precision and freedom, mechanical movements, and expressionism. On the other is Israel Galván, one of the world's most renowned flamenco dancers. RI TE stems from the encounter of these two apparently distant worlds that share the same rhythm and ability to merge tension and fiery expressiveness. On stage, facing each other, they engage in a free dialogue made of choreographed steps, snappy gestures and sudden interruptions, mixing challenge and play. A joyful and humorous moment, using only body language, sparked by the surprise of improvisation and mutual discovery. “The dance becomes irreverent, anarchic, but also exuberant and engaging. It will make the audience smile with irony and unpredictability.”
Vincenzo Sardelli, Krapp's Last Post
