The penultimate of five Mozart concerts for violin, Concerto K 218, composed in 1775, shows more than a debt towards the Italian violin school and the typical cantability of the composers whose works Mozart was able to discover and appreciate on occasion of his three visits to our country. Undoubtedly Luigi Boccherini held pride of place here, as one of the most cosmopolitan musicians of the time, who in the last movement of this Symphony no. 4 cites the finale of Gluck's Don Juan. Schnittke's Suite in the old style, originally for violin and piano, from the sound track composed for a film by Elem Klimov and transcribed for chamber orchestra by Vladimir Spivakov in 1991.
