Drawing on a real news story, Marta Cuscunà builds a critique of contemporary society, between gender violence, taboos and masculinity. In the black of the stage, two rows of severed heads. On one side, the adults; on the other, the young males, the teenage fathers. They all hang like hunting trophies, pinned with their backs to the wall by events that caught them unprepared.
The facts really happened at the high school of Gloucester, Massachusetts. 18 girls pregnant at the same time — a figure four times above the average — and it does not appear to be an accident. Some of the young women are said to have planned their pregnancies together, as part of a secret pact, in order to raise their children in a kind of female commune. Many journalists rush in, trying to find an explanation for such a shocking maternity pact: one of them confesses she wanted to create a small new world after witnessing a femicide.
The script of the show contains some explicit sexual references and the f-word (a derogatory term for “gay”) TW: femicide
