Ave Verum Corpus K 618
Misericordias Domini K 222
Requiem K 626
Completed by Franz Xaver Süssmayr (1766-1803)
Two pages from Mozart’s sacred catalogue (the famous Ave Verum Corpus motet, composed during his final summer in Baden, and the Misericordias Domini offertory from 1775) introduce the Requiem K. 626. Left unfinished at his death, it was completed by his student Franz Xaver Süßmayr. This remains one of the most renowned and debated works in music history, still surrounded by myth and historical intrigue two centuries after its creation.
