A Higher Passion, A Higher Vision
Melologue for Actor and Piano on the Poetic Work of ALDO CAPITINI (1899–1968)
by FABRIZIO DE ROSSI RE with Giordano Agrusta, actor
Approximate duration: 50 minutes
The melologue unfolds as a dialogue between the actor’s voice and the narrative plane of the music, exploring two parallel expressive paths. At its heart lies the poetic work of the great Perugian intellectual and founder of the Peace March, published by Del Vecchio Editore (Rome, 2016). Capitini’s poetry is interwoven with sudden sonic appearances—brief, revealing fragments taken from his political writings, as collected by Lanfranco Binni and Marcello Rossi in the volume Un’alta passione, un’alta visione.
The piece reveals how Capitini’s poetic voice—often considered marginal to his political, philosophical, and pedagogical work—actually offers profound insights into the journey toward peace and the deeper mechanisms that link the individual to the world.
